Restorative treatments are used to repair or replace teeth that have been damaged due to decay, injury, or other causes. Tooth decay is one of the most common reasons for restorative treatments, and fillings are often used to repair cavities. Depending on the severity of the damage, other treatments such as crowns, bridges, or implants may be necessary to restore the function and appearance of the affected teeth. At our dental practice, we use different types of filling materials, including glass Ionomer cement and composite resin, based on the specific condition of each patient's tooth. Glass Ionomer cement is a tooth-colored material that is often used for fillings in areas of the mouth that are not subject to heavy biting or chewing forces. Composite resin is a tooth-colored material that can be used for both small and large fillings, and it is highly durable and resistant to wear and tear. Preventive care, on the other hand, is focused on maintaining good oral health and preventing dental problems before they occur. This includes regular dental check-ups, cleanings, and other treatments designed to keep teeth and gums healthy. One preventive measure that we recommend is fissure sealant, which is a protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of teeth to prevent food particles and bacteria from settling in the grooves and causing decay. This treatment is especially effective for children and teenagers, as their teeth are still developing and may be more susceptible to decay.
