Orthodontic treatment is a dental service aimed at correcting misaligned teeth and jaws. It is a branch of dentistry that specializes in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of dental and facial irregularities. The most common treatment method involves the use of braces, which apply gentle pressure to the teeth to gradually move them into the correct position. At our dental clinic, we provide two types of braces for our patients which are conventional braces and self-ligating braces. Conventional braces, also known as manual braces, consist of metal or ceramic brackets that are bonded to the teeth, connected with wires and adjusted by the orthodontist during regular appointments. Self-ligating braces, also called automatic braces, work similarly to conventional braces, but use a clip instead of elastic bands to hold the wire in place, making them more comfortable and requiring fewer adjustments. Both types of braces can be used to treat a range of orthodontic issues, including crowded or spaced teeth, overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites. Orthodontic treatment not only improves the appearance of teeth, but also helps prevent dental problems such as gum disease, tooth decay, and jaw pain.
